The Truth about Goats
New research by the Home Office suggest that Islamic State militants attempt to found a caliphate in northern Iraq may be motivated by the spiralling cost of the UK’s rental market. In an attempt to escape an oppressive annual house price inflation of over 10%, nearly 500 British Muslims have travelled to warzones in search of ‘a nice semi-detached, with on-street parking’.
Home Secretary, Theresa May, plans to bring in legislation to tackle extremist house buyers. She has said she wants to put an end to young men being radicalized by talk of ‘fixer uppers’. Online, over 28,000 pieces of jihadist material have been removed by the UK Government; including rumours of ‘a cheap flat in Knightsbridge’, images of Kirstie Allsopp ‘beheading’ an Estate Agent and ‘all access’ to Right Move.
One young Londoner, who wished his identity kept secret, said: ‘Every day hate preachers talk about the average house price being half a million pounds. Sharia law doesn’t make direct reference to first-time buyers, but it can’t be worse than living here in my parent’s back bedroom. I’m 26 for goodness sake!’
The Extremism Task Force that was set up by Prime Minister David Cameron has already identified Sarah Beeny as one of the main culprits in trying to recruit young people via social media. Mrs May acknowledged the ‘very deadly threat’ to the UK from terrorist TV material like ‘D.I.Y. I.S.’, ‘Escape to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ and ‘Homes under the Hamas’.
