The Truth about Goats
Proving that God has no ear for music but has a firm grasp of irony, George Martin has passed away at the age of 90. Yet as the world mourns the death of the man known as ‘the fifth Beatle’, civilization fears the continued existence of ‘the fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse’ – aka Kanye West.
Many may say nine decades is a long life for a music producer, they would also agree that 38 is far too long for someone who butchered ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. So with each passing ‘Beatle’ we are reminded of our own mortality and the fact we are stuck with Mr. West. Although it was fair to suggest that Mr. Martin’s best years were behind him, Mr West never had any to begin with.
Interestingly Mr. Martin managed to produce the twentieth century’s most important artists without the publicity of his wife ‘getting her flaps out on Twitter’. Admittedly John and Yoko also used nudity to forward their agenda; but Ono specialized less in ‘breaking the Internet and more in ‘damaging our ear drums’.
One fan said: ‘If God does exists he doesn’t care for musical pedigree. And if immortality comes from mediocrity, then the remaining Beatles would do well to focus on another ‘Frog chorus’. Likewise McCartney’s collaboration with West can be seen as an attempt to cheat death by destroying own his credibility’. Let us not forget that Mr. Martin, a very private man, gave us his masterful melodies but little of home life; while Mr. West gave us ‘Drunk & Hot Girls’ and information on whether he likes a ‘finger up his butt’.
